true blood inspired good faerie nails

You may look at this mani and say to yourself, “Well this isn’t horror-themed at all!”  Well, wanderers- it is.  As you all know, I am a fan of True Blood.  For those who haven’t watched, you may not know that there is more to the show than metrosexual vampires and scantly clad women.  Faeries are gross.  I wish I had a more “grown-up” way to described them, but that is all I have.  They are the most beautiful creatures when they lure you in but once they have you… extreme beauty disappears and these disgusting hobbit like creatures appear.

For this mani I decided to go a good versus bad theme.  On my left hand I have my good faerie mani and on my right hand I have my horrific bad faerie mani.  I will post the right hand on my next post.  I wanted the mani to reflect the daintiness of the faeries along with the power which shoots from their hands.  On the show, a bright yellow light comes from the faeries hands when they use their magic.  This is my take on an explosion of power coming from the finger tips.  It was not easy to get a good pic of the awesomeness that is my faerie mani.  There is just so much sparkle!  Wanderers here we have

The process:

Apply base coat for protection.  Start with one generous coat of NYC Pink Bling. Once dry, apply your gradient with a sponge.  I used Wet N Wild Fast Dry in The Wonder Yellows and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Celeb City.  Once completely dry, apply one coat of Nicole by OPI Love Your Life.  While wet, quickly and carefully apply assorted hearts, stars and gold foil flakes as desired.  Once completely dry and set, apply another coat or two of Love Your Life to seal the bits and pieces and also to add more glitter!  Finish the look with your desired topcoat, the thicker the better.  I used Seche Vite fast drying clear topcoat.
